Good quality, suitable for hammers with claws

The head is well finished although it needs a lot of sharpening. I own it not long ago to judge the quality of the steel. The grip is sufficient, but could be a bit stronger. If you have to pry off a piece of wood, you can break the handle if you're not careful how hard you press on it.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Something different

Works great, low price,

Arrived in perfect condition and I've made it even sharper. When building a zig zag log fence I used this adze along with a two pound hand slide to make a connection between the logs. This adze worked well, I was happy with it and will continue to use it. I also have a bearded construction ax to do most of the same jobs, but I can't leverage this ax like this adze. I'm glad I bought it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

This is a short handle adze for easy working

Like many new tools, it comes with a dull edge when shipped. A quick light jog on a bench or using a small disc sander improved it significantly. I use this on the cypress lap in my garden. I used to trim them down to floor level. New growth is soft and easy to complete with this short handled adze. With a sharpened tool, he will also cut out the knees of the old tree. I don't care if the trees die because they were free trees over 15 years ago. Most lawn companies will stop mowing the yard if…

You get what you pay for.

I wanted something fast and cheap. And by those criteria, it's a success. Not by other standards. It came across as so bland that I wonder if it wasn't made more as a prop than a tool, as if it was never meant to be an advantage. About twenty minutes with the sharpener got the blade but I don't expect it to hold up even with light use. There's absolutely no chance it's actually forged steel, almost certainly cast. Otherwise it fits its grip well, isn't too terribly balanced, and arrived on…

Great product but you need to finish it yourself.

My new adze arrived today and looks good. It consists of two parts. head and handle. The head is not sharpened yet. It must be sharpened on a grinding wheel before actually sharpening and honing the blade. The head is also cast iron, giving it the texture of a Dutch oven. This also means that you may find some rough spots in the hole where the handle is inserted. I have and will quickly discard them for a smoother build and less damage to the handle. But overall it looks like a nice solid piece

Pros
  • Hand tool

  • Can't remember

The tool is a diamond in the rough

The Tesla isn't a tool that people reach for often these days, let alone that it can often be used for non-specialized tasks. However, I found I needed one for a small project. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and didn't want to go to antique shops. So I found this one. Upon arrival, my first inspection got me thinking. As mentioned in a previous comment, a blade has no blade. If you don't have a grinding wheel or whetstones, you're going to need them. I spent about 2 hours sharpening this

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Some bugs
