I needed mirrors for my truck as I have a "base model" that doesn't have them. I don't necessarily need a light on the mirror, but they only work intermittently. When I first opened the package I added batteries but the light wouldn't turn on. I went with them anyway as the light was more of an add-on for me anyway. Here, after a few days in my car, the light miraculously began to work. My other issue with them is that the clips are made of shiny metal. A shiny metal clip in the field of vision is a real distraction when driving. It's annoying too, but not a big deal if you've lowered your sun visor to block out the sun - the reflection is distracting too. These mirrors do not include a cover.
