Many people will like this helmet. I'll explain what it is, but my current plan is to order another high end helmet as this one is too basic (dare I say cheap?) for me. branded helmet. Also, the weight loss made the Specialized Size Large helmet too big for me. Here are some of the features I wanted: light green color; visor; comfortable inner mesh/padding; and good adjustment options to ensure a tight fit. Normally I would buy one of the big brands like Giro/Bell/Specialized and be prepared to pay the usual $100 for a high end helmet. However, it was difficult to find one of the high end brands/models that had all the features I was looking for. Notably, most had no visor and/or were colored bright green. Then I stumbled across this Shinmax helmet which not only had all the features I needed but was around $30. So I took the flyer and ordered a medium sized helmet. Aside from the low price, here are the features I love about this helmet: - Attractive vent pattern and color - Padded chin strap - Built-in tail light with extra battery Internal mesh to keep bugs out. I'll preface my list of what I didn't like by saying that many of these issues are likely trivia for casual cyclists. - The fabric inside the helmet is very thin and does not cushion. your head is good The visor is a smaller, cheaper version of the standard visor (like the one on my custom helmet). The attachment points are of poor quality and the visor kept bouncing off the helmet. The side blades are thin/narrow which causes the mirror I attach to the visor to shift slightly. Even though I went down a size from my Specialized, the Shinmax helmet still slipped a bit on my head. It wouldn't be a deal killer, except that the tightening mechanism didn't have much tightening ability. So I couldn't get a tight fit. This is actually not a defect as I should have ordered two sizes smaller. But minimal adjustment - plus they don't include any additional stick-on foam pads - made it such that the fit tolerance was very small. So here's what I'm going to do. I will give this helmet to my daughter who will one day ride in the blue moon. This helmet is great for a casual rider like her. As for me, I'll spend a few bucks more for something better.
