4 screws are required to mount the brackets. The instructions say it comes with 4 screws and 4 mollies but I only had 3 of each and bought 2 shades. Both shades were missing screws and mollies. This appears to be intentional. If they forgot a screw I would understand but they made the same mistake FOUR times on my order. Two sets of screws are missing one and two sets of mollys are missing one. Also, the rope used to lower the lampshade broke off at the bottom of the lampshade in the first week of use. Hope I can attach it again. EDIT: I went back and added a star to this review. Their customer support contacted me and was helpful and responsive so you can get help if you run into any issues. They told me there is a problem with the number of screws, so take a look. In addition, the shadow no longer has problems and effectively dims the light.
