Where to start? - It was a strange color. One side was dark gray and the other light gray. I ordered white - The fabric was partially torn and there were stains on the sides - On one side the hook snapped easily into place, on the other side it took a while and had to be adjusted - The blinds would not go up after two pulls back again. First two we bought for boys kids playroom. We liked it so much we ordered 8 more and used them in each bedroom. We hung them in the window frame. They make the room much darker. Some light still comes in from the side, but we knew it and didn't mind. If you want to completely darken the room, you may need to hang them outside the frame. All my windows have honeycomb curtains and let in light while maintaining privacy. The problem I'm having is that my office monitor is facing a window that has direct sunlight late in the morning. So I got significant on-screen glare even with the shutter closed. These shades work really well but that's stopping me from giving them 5 stars. Two things: First I ordered three blinds. The equipment in each of them came with only three screws. if you need four I'm serious? In addition, the screws are made of inferior metal. The three heads of the screws will come loose as they are attached to the window frame. Luckily I had similar screws at home. Second, the instructions were very poor. 4 screws are required to mount the brackets. The instructions say it comes with 4 screws and 4 mollies but I only had 3 of each and bought 2 shades. Both shades were missing screws and mollies. This appears to be intentional. If they forgot a screw I would understand but they made the same mistake FOUR times on my order. After removing the motor I noticed that the plastic end bearing had broken a small plastic axle in the middle so it was literally dangling in the end cap. For their purpose the screens themselves work very well. When you stand next to them, you can feel the warmth that they don't let through. As you move away from them, the room gets cooler. They look a lot sleeker than the ones we've had before and the foil image is barely noticeable from the outside.
