When I was looking for a portable monitor, I did quite a bit of research on different price ranges and finally settled on this one. Having had to work on this monitor as a designer and student despite the COVID lockdown, I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase. There are so many options and hundreds of monitors of this type with similar features at different prices on different shopping sites. points out that it was difficult to find a good laptop with all the necessary features. - Portability: It had to fit in my laptop backpack so I could take it to work/school. - Brightness: Bright enough to see in different conditions. In really bright light conditions, however, it consumes significantly more power. - Controls: Easy-to-use controls (once you spot the little scroll wheel on the side, VOL DOWN and BRIGHTNESS UP are required.) - Connectivity: Various HDMI ports, Thunderbolt (or USB-C) ports, and the included USB to-USBC is all I need to connect to my wife's Windows laptop, my Surface Pro, and my main computer, my computer. Mackbook Pro.-Power: A great Tor monitor is that it can be powered via Thunderbolt, USBC or the great option of using a USB adapter for battery power. NOTE. I usually use this when my laptop is connected to the network. However, this monitor is quite gluttonous - when running on a laptop battery, the power consumption is quite significant and noticeable! Keep in mind that you can change the power, brightness, and HDR settings on your monitor, but this only helps to a certain extent. Weight/Size: This monitor is large but not too heavy to carry around. It's too big to fit in the sleeve of my 13" Macbook Pro, but I keep it in a separate thin sleeve that I bought separately. It would be nice if it was a little more durable. Therefore, if you carry it back and forth to class on a daily basis, you will need another bag/bag to carry it. The case that comes with it just doesn't hold up. -Gaming: Haven't tried running this on a laptop dedicated to PC gaming - I suspect there are some latency issues, but I've used it to run PS4 during lockdown - worked great with bright colors, fast movement and decent black tones. No noticeable lag, at least compared to PS4. 15.6" is quite a large size - in fact, I was surprised at how big it is compared to my 13" MacBook when I took it out of the box. It's nice to have a little more room to work, but to be honest you can go a little smaller if you want it to be more portable. It's a large monitor to carry around - I agree, but it might actually be too big for some people. - The magnetic case is a nice feature included in the box, but it's short-lived and easily scratched or wrinkled. - Volume control is a bit finicky with a scroll wheel on the side and also a little annoying - I feel like the volume indicator lingers on screen for too long after you press it. CHECK FOR DEFECTS UPON RECEIPT: My first order of this item arrived damaged (or at least factory defective) - there were 2 lines of white pixels very blurry from top to bottom of the screen. This is a manufacturing defect - AMAZON promptly replaced upon request.
