Works well. : Accessories

I installed this on my used one and scolded a Trek 810 which I kept doing a little repair. It seems to work as advertised when properly installed. However, the directions are a bit vague and very small for older eyeballs like mine. The location of the magnetic sensor on the wheel is key to the correct operation of the odometer and speedometer functions. I'm a bit mechanical by nature so I used a bit of logic and common sense to determine what I thought would work best and so far I've been right. I've noticed that some negative reviews mention that it stopped working in the middle of a ride and I'm curious if they installed it correctly. Some people just don't have enough mechanical skills. The instructions state that the probe must be within 3mm of the sensor mounted on the forks. This is a very small window, and in order for it to stay in place under centrifugal force, not to mention bumps that occur while riding, you need to install it on the side of the hub where the spokes cross. This arrangement prevents it from moving outward on the wheel as centrifugal force will simply push it harder into the intersection of the spokes and prevent it from sliding further outward on the wheel. However, on my bike it is placed so close to the sensor that the sensor could not be mounted perpendicular to the wheel without making physical contact with the sensor. This has proven to be fine as it created a situation where since it is only secured with zip ties you can easily adjust the distance between the transducer and the transducer by tilting or rotating the transducer from perpendicular. In other words, rotate the sensor on the fork so that the sensor isn't pointing straight at the wheel, but slightly in front of or behind the bike so it doesn't touch the sensor. I certainly see a situation where the pickup can move due to bump or brush contact when using it off-road, but in my opinion that's to be expected when dealing with something tuned to such tight tolerances. with zippers. This works very well for a road bike, although I cannot confirm the accuracy of the odometer and speedometer. I need to keep testing, although honestly I don't care. The numbers in the parking lot match me. The low beam itself is bright enough for me to see clearly on dark city streets, although I bought it larger to be seen rather than seen. The only reason I can put it higher is if you really want to make sure motorists can see you. I already had a taillight built into my seat (a padded Giddy-Up seat that I recommend for anyone who's slightly overweight and trying to get in shape like me) so I hit the included taillight. my daughter's bike. Works fine, nothing special. The headlight mounts securely, although we'll see how long the adjustable rubber binding lasts. It doesn't wobble as I feared when the supplied piece of self-adhesive rubber is mounted on the handlebars as a pad/pad. Although I will find that the glue on this piece of rubber is very strong. Make sure you get it where you want it the first time. If you need to take it off, he removed the paint from my steering wheel. It could also be because my bike is outdated and the paintwork is in poor condition. The horn works well and as mentioned in other reviews is loud. I prefer the Chirp setting as it doesn't sound as loud or obnoxious as the others. I've only done just over 7 miles on a couple of rides and due to recent unrelated back strain I haven't used it in over a week but the battery is still fully charged. The only functionality issue I had is a quick connect to unlock after a ride. I hope repetition and familiarity make this quicker and easier. Overall for the $20 or so I paid for it, it does what it says on the tin and I'm happy with it. I would give it 5 stars if the instructions were better (or just bigger) and if the handlebar mount was a more secure clamp rather than an adjustable rubber band which I expect will be the first to dump the entire setup useless and indicates. if I can't find a solution. Maybe more cable ties. To be honest I'd happily pay another $5 for a better mount considering the rest seems pretty well made. The time will show. Maybe this rubber tie will prove me wrong. Good luck and happy cycling.
