Review on πŸ”§ Cooler Master i30 CPU Cooler - 92mm Low Noise Cooling Fan & Heatsink (RH-I30-26FK-R1) - for Intel Socket LGA 1150 / 1151 / 1155 / 1156 (i30) by Chris Spoja

This is a fan with what vaguely resembles a cooler.

Saw Cooler Master and was regularly surprised at the low price. I only noticed this after opening the box. It will not cool down a desktop processor in any way. The contact area at the bottom of the cooler is about half that of the Intel Socket 1155 processor (see figure). I figured the folks at Cooler Master knew something I didn't, so I gave it a try anyway: It was a short test. By the time I got into the BIOS, the CPU temp was already 50C and it was just a humble Pentium; The Core i7 it was meant to be used on got up to 60C before I thought I'd seen enough; it took about 20 seconds. Of course I don't expect a copper core at this price point, but aluminum is almost non-existent. It's basically a Cooler Master fan that performs just as well as the rest of its fans, that is to say very well, but with an extra piece of aluminum holding it to something. If I just wanted one of their fans, I would order one. First time I was disappointed in buying Cooler Master.
