As I write this review, it turns out that these "Chill Premier" units are new models from Friedrich and have recently gone on sale. This unit replaces an old 5 year old Friedrich Kuhl Air which over the past two years has literally started to fall apart, the front panel warped, the power button broke and the unit's ball bearings squeaked making it a loud beast. The build quality of the Friedrich Chill Premier is good but not great (don't expect too much from a $500 device), the remote control is a new design and is very nice. The 12K BTU unit I bought is the size of a typical 10K BTU unit, it fired up with no issues and cooled down very quickly. Overall not too loud for a window unit but don't expect miracles and I'm not sure about the 25% quieter claim. The built in WIFI was very easy to set up and within 5 minutes I had the device connected to the app and paired with my Revain Alexa. The Alexa skill is well developed and the simple voice command "Alexa, turn on the air conditioner" works like a charm and is a great feature. a couple of years ago) As I mentioned, this model has new design and technology and will stand out in the crowded $500-700 AC market.
