I bought this mount as a cheap alternative to some of the more expensive Yeti mic mounts. Saving a few dollars was a headache. I'll start with the positive aspects of this microphone mount. The mount actually works quite well if you set it up correctly. This will greatly reduce the hum in your recordings. It easily bolts to any pole stand or desk mount. Now let's get to the bad stuff. The bracket is designed so that you can only position it on one side unless you remove the tapes and rotate the indoor unit. Doesn't sound bad as long as you don't have to rewind the chords. This thing is built to require the help of three hands or a second person when refueling. The teeth are too small to do it yourself and the thread pops out. You also need to adjust the tension across the entire thread or you will end up with a crooked internal mount. Here's the worst thing about this mount. You lock this by tightening the screw at the bottom of the microphone. That would be a good idea, but the screw isn't the right thread, so you have to actually turn the thing to tighten it even a little. Maybe I just got one with a bad thread, but now you can see the metal dust and I think the screw itself is starting to loosen. Because of this, I can't even fully tighten it. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more for a better mount. This thing was quite a disappointment.
