Yes there were a few color issues...burgundy instead of red for the 2 pieces...but all the pieces were in place. Get close to each other. I recommend adult supervision if the child is not very knowledgeable about Lego. I'm Lego Grandma and I've done great. If something doesn't feel right...it's always my fault, not the design. They pay more for Legos and they package them in assemblies. Not here. I liked the challenge. I've placed elves decorating the tree and plants to use the music box creatively in rearrangements. A great idea. Lego should copy that. Everything worked. And oh, green for wood was spot on on this set. Maybe they read the reviews
