I did not buy this steam iron. I suppose it can sometimes be used for clothing but my wife is not happy with the space the steamer takes up. She prefers an iron. I received this steamer for cleaning. It gives off a lot of steam quickly and I use that steam to clean a light colored stone kitchen floor that has natural crevices and crevices for dirt to get in. Steam is a great way to clean those hard-to-clean surfaces. It is also great for removing stains from carpets and furniture, and revitalizing curtains that cannot be washed. There are many uses for steam and this is a great steamer for these types of cleaning projects that puts out a lot of steam quickly.
