My use case for the XP140 is when I don't want to use an X-E3/T3 or iPhone XS (edit: 11 pro now). It's cheap enough that dropping it in a lake compared to a phone won't break my heart. I was curious to see how the XP140 compares to the iPhone in terms of image quality. I would say they are comparable, a slight advantage over the iPhone. The XP140 makes a little more noise, but it's barely noticeable. There seems to be some delay before the XP140 stops exposing. I like the off-camera color better on the XP140. The iPhone has extra cameras that can help with HDR, and some software magic that lets you take better photos than the XP140 with less knowledge. I think $160 is a reasonable price if you have specific use cases. It's easier to use with one hand than a phone, which can come in handy when kayaking or similar. I give it 4 stars given its price and understanding of the limitations of the 1/2.3 inch sensor. This is a 2 or 3 star camera if you don't need durability. The Olympus Tough TG-6 is a more robust system with a better lens and better image quality, but costs twice as much. So the XP140 is better suited to my needs. If I need higher quality photos I would use my mirrorless cameras. So the TG-6 isn't quite right for my needs. The TH-6 makes sense if you're looking for a rugged camera that doesn't compromise on image quality and isn't willing to pay more for it. Wrong camera if you expect the highest image quality versus good quality for beautiful outdoor shots. Wrong camera if you expect professional photos. Get an APS-C or something. The right camera if you're doing things where an unreliable camera can be ruined and don't want to spend more than $300 on it.
