Works but finicky. The ribbon cable in my iPod didn't fit the socket snugly - that is, when the ribbon was fully inserted into the socket, the pads were slightly offset from the pins on the socket. As a result, it will not work. When you insert the tape almost all the way, about 0.3mm from the end, electrical contact is made; but during the manipulations of reassembly, the cable slipped into the connector and it did not work. You need to be very careful when connecting and assembling to make it work properly. It's not unique to this unit, those little zippers are finicky and the iPod flex cables aren't standard. Figuring this out was frustrating, but once I assembled and sealed everything, everything worked flawlessly.
