Only gives five star reviews (maybe with a few exceptions). It deserves five stars because it exceeded my expectations. It's really well made, sturdy, easy to install and looks great in my simple, modest apartment. I've never been able to afford really expensive furniture and I'm always on the lookout for functional and well-made furniture at an affordable price. It meets all requirements. I wanted an ottoman so I could sit in the middle of my sofa and rest my legs so my two kitties (who refuse to snuggle up) could sit on either side of me. (Each side of the sofa can recline, but sitting in the middle is a small price to pay to have my kitties next to me at the same time.) I was also surprised at how often I use the tray feature! When my kitties aren't sitting with me I step aside and flip the lid over to make a really nice, sturdy tray for my coffee or my glass if it's cheaper champagne. If you're not a picky eater when it comes to furniture and want something functional, beautiful and easy to assemble, then this is what you need. Oh, and like a stool, it's soft enough to be comfortable. Super happy with my purchase.
