Review on Virtue Ascend Thermal Paintball Goggles by Doug Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality at a bargain price!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet as a lot of the advertising that Virtue has built around this mask is already pretty true. For the money, this is one of the best mask options money can buy in the $80-$100 price range. If anything, the Ascends are actually on par with some of the more expensive premium masks, without some of the useless features that those masks now include. I was most concerned about the fit as I don't have access to a local pro shop to try the mask on before buying and I have a large head. I currently have Sly Profit and VForce Profiler and while both fit pretty well, I was looking for something more convenient. . The sides of the mask cover the cheek area to the jawline, which is what I would expect from a low profile mask, and the underside of the mask is pliable rubber that flexes well. It was also nice to note that the foam inserts don't pinch the bridge of the nose as much as my other masks when the strap is snug to keep the mask from bouncing around. I didn't have to take too long to land either, which would literally save me a headache later. Vision is as good as most premium goggles with the exception of the Empire EVS, but Virtue's anti-reflective and scratch-resistant lenses make this system a very attractive alternative. other options. Even the tinted lens that comes with the mask delivers a sharp, distortion-free image that most others don't have. Many masks come with tinted lenses that are too dark or suffer from excessive internal reflections, but Vio masks don't. Ascend also offers very good ventilation. I could just as easily shout or speak through the mask with minimal noise dampening and without feeling the vents were too large for protection. It was also nice to be able to speak or shout loudly without getting deafened myself like I often do with my winnings. My only issues with this mask are very minor issues that do not affect my overall experience with the products. It would be nice if Virtue released the Ascend in multiple colorways, but it's easy to see why they would use fewer options at launch to save on costs that would thus be passed on to the consumer as savings. Maybe there will be more opportunities in the future, but to be honest it doesn't matter that much to me. Revain only ships 4 different options at the moment, but I believe Virtue's direct sales site has 6. This is more of an observation than a complaint, but it was worth noting. I haven't been able to test the mask more thoroughly so I can't yet comment on how well the ventilation and anti-fog coating work together to prevent fogging, but I'll update my review once I've tested this more extensively. However, I found Ascend surprisingly good, to the point where this mask far exceeds my expectations. If you have any doubts about buying one of these masks, just buy them. Ascend is a great primary or secondary mask for players of all skill levels.
