First of all, I'm by no means a professional face painter! However, when it comes to Halloween, we take our costumes and makeup a step further. For a few years now I've been using giant eyeliner for most of our Halloween makeup as the store bought greasy color just wouldn't cut! The eyeliners offered full coverage, dried quickly and allowed other eyeshadows and eyeliner to be applied. However, there were also impractical ones, with all that sharpening, and they could easily cost a lot. So I looked for an alternative without investing in expensive professional cosmetics. A few years ago I took a chance on buying a black and white snazaroo case after reading many positive reviews. I was surprised that it was even better than I had hoped! Using Snazaroo face paints is very easy. All you need is water, a sponge and a brush. Depending on the amount of water you use, it can get very thin or quite thick. I tend to thin and repeat several coats until I get the color and opacity I want. This paint dries in seconds so layering and blending is no problem. It can be difficult to paint with light colors on dark ones, which is to be expected. I try to do the light areas before the dark. With a good brush it is easy painting intricate details, which was a very important aspect for us. It is also important to note that this paint is water based. This makes it extremely breathable and easy to rinse off (virtually rinse off). I usually have it on my face for a few hours and it really lasts a long time. It obviously wears off the lips when eating or drinking, so a little touch up might be needed. This paint is of very high quality and the colors are vibrant. The amount of color you get for a cake is really great value, especially since I used to spend the same amount on a giant eyeliner! Every year we get countless compliments and many ask where we do our make-up. You can't go wrong with Snazaroo! And last and most important is the safety of these paints. We all have fairly sensitive skin. and we try to stay away from most flavors, artificial colors, and other irritating ingredients. However, no one in the family reacted negatively to this color. We will not use anything other than Snazaroo! This set was a great way for us to start our collection and we continue to add to it every year. We know it will serve us for years to come!
