I have very mixed feelings about this gate. I started by reading a number of reviews of this and other gates. And despite some reservations, I decided to buy this gate. We have a 1 year old who has just started walking and I was struggling to find the perfect gate for the large gap leading to the kitchen. Install: I have 3 ⭐️; for bad equipment. Please do yourself a favor and go to a hardware store and buy screws! I remembered seeing an old review about screws after breaking two. 😂 But once we figured it out, installation was pretty quick and it was easy with the template. BUT, the gates were installed in literally 5 minutes before my kid figured out how to crawl under. 🤦‍♀️ While it doesn't completely stop him from going into the kitchen, it does hold him back. Note: We installed the gate over the baseboard because my husband didn't want to damage the baseboard. 🤷‍♀️But as much as I hate goals, I love them too. It has a small footprint, is easy to store and stays reasonably taut.
