I have an ASUS GL502VT; BEAST gaming laptop. I'm hesitating between WoW and Skyrim. Now I usually keep an eye on my temperature, and if I leave everything WIDE open (why play on something smaller?) With ultra settings and a 60fps refresh, my computer heats up a bit. Normally when I'm online my CPU temperature fluctuates between 75 and 80 degrees Celsius. Here is our background! OK: I came home yesterday and this bad boy was here. I love growing up and ordering stuff from Revain. Every time I get a delivery, it's like Christmas! So I unpack this baby and take her out of the box. The first thing I understand is light. Very easy. I wasn't expecting the weight as it will be relatively stationary on a desk when my laptop is plugged in (it only gets very hot when plugged in to charge). After that I realize it's really strong, it looks very well made and strong for its weight. I certainly do NOT take the time to set it up and connect it to my computer with the cable that came with it. There are two rotary controls on the top of the pad, which you press once to turn on, then turn to make the fans spin faster. One drive controls the top two fans and the other drives the top two fans. Another thing I want to mention is the tabs on the bottom that keep the computer from sliding off the mat at an angle. These lugs are INCREDIBLY rigid for their size and I have no doubt for a second that they won't wear out. . This thing is very well designed. The only thing that really bugs me about the design is the tabs on the back that are used to prop it up at an angle. They work great now, a little flimsy when you try to reposition the computer, but they don't slip and I've had no problems with them while using them. I just wish they had an intermediate setting like most keyboards. Most keyboards have a large foot to hold them up and an intermediate foot to set them at a slightly smaller angle. It's okay, I like the angle, but only because there are no options. It has a small groove on the leg which makes it look like it has multiple corners. Do not be fooled! I also like red LEDs. Unobtrusive and underwhelming, perfect for the red theme of my setup! Testing: First I loaded WoW and ran through a few dungeons. The great thing about my computer is that even at 80-85 degrees, which is where I usually put my hands on and touch the keys, it never gets very warm. I've used some that get hot to the touch after a while. Not mine, it stays nice and cool. Well, with this fan, my computer's keys and case are much cooler than I expected. An unexpected surprise that I love! After 2 hours in open mode and a few dungeons and quests I check the CPU temperature. 55 degrees. That's a HUGE difference. The absolute maximum I saw was 60 degrees. This stand is amazing, it cools my computer up to 20 degrees during my gaming peak. Amazing product, seriously!
