Ok I took a chance and bought Beamtech headlights, received them yesterday. Their installation did not cause major problems. As you'll notice, the actual projectors on the Dodge Charger are closer to the edge of the front grille, which means they're halfway up the rear fenders, making access a bit tricky. I have pretty strong hands, but twisting these dust caps counterclockwise to remove them was difficult because you can't wrap your arm around them. It helps if you use pliers to grab one of the tabs on the covers to unscrew them. Once turned off, the bulbs come out quite easily. Some LED bulbs have set screws that can be loosened to allow the bulb to be rotated for better alignment. They have screws but they are bolted on the inside so no adjustment is possible. Since there is only one way to insert a lightbulb, you simply screw it in; Rotate the bulb until it clicks, and then turn it clockwise about 1/4 turn until it clicks. Some people report that they don't fit well, but I haven't had any problems. You then feed the wiring into the back of the flashlight body and then put the dust cover back on. So, first impression; don't believe all the hype about these lights! In the low beam they are really no brighter than factory halogen. Beamtech LEDs are really very white, almost blue (6500K corresponds to the blue spectrum). They are almost identical in color to my Daytona's LED fog lights. However, they are not brighter in the low beam than the factory ones. It's hard to tell with high beam on, it seems to shine up the trees more than halogen lights, but I haven't driven a long dark road to be sure. I can say they are a far cry from the performance and HID circuits of my previous machine, the ST3 Focus. So here it is. I'm still happy with the purchase considering they only cost $37 and give off a whiter light than the stock bulbs. I just wish they were brighter. Maybe in a couple of years! Update 9/1/2019: After a few weeks with them I decided they weren't bright enough, especially as you can get a set of hidden bulbs, ballast and wiring included, for almost the same price. Price. And I did. HID LEDs kill in every way. They might not work that well anyway, but they work like they did in my Charger 17 with projector cases. So before you buy them, take a look at HID. They are close to the same price. Rating dropped to 3 stars.
