I have an heir from 2012. it didn't just come with a programming website and when I checked it said verbatim "Sorry , if you landed on this page it means you have to go to a dealer or locksmith to program your key" when I ordered this key I did because I didn't pay more than 200€ for the dealer wanted to. In my frustration, I went to YouTube and searched "keychain programming for xb descendants 2012". I got about 5 or 6 results. None of them are for the Scion, but I went with one of them anyway and followed the directions. Took me less than a minute to program it (before cutting the key). Using the remote control program I went to a locksmith and cut the key for $5 he told me the car would not start. an asterisk with the key that I also need to program the ignition. So I went to the car, opened and closed it with the remote gear, and it worked great, I didn't have to program anything else. .happy in the end obviously needs some research, that was bad.
