So I bought a new iPad 5th Gen and took a close look at UAG and its design. I like the quasi-military hard-book look of Pansonic's design. My first choice was either the new Surface Pro 6 in black or the iPad Pro 12 with a UAG case, but I couldn't justify the high cost of the hardware or the case, although I thought it looked cool. So I got a deal for a refurbished 5th Gen iPad direct from Apple for about $240 and wanted a UAG type case. It was the one best suited for this part. Assembly wasn't as easy as with Otterbox. The plastic frame took some effort figuring out how to put it on so it doesn't pop out of the back. The chart they provide seems to help. I was afraid that the frame would scratch something. After putting the frame on, the next problem was that I forgot to remove the protective film from the screen. Outside and inside the main rubber body is protective plastic packaging. I love how they designed it to be part of the case instead of just trying to stick it to the screen with no bubbles or dirt getting into the screen protector forever. I like the looks. It has that UAG military look, especially after I got it in black. The main downside, although I was already aware of this, is the lack of a screen protector or flap that covers the screen. So you have to be careful when putting it in your backpack to make sure there aren't objects lying or putting pressure on the screen. Screen tilt is an adjustment only and is a bit weak. Overall very happy with the design, looks and quality for less than half the price of the UAG version.
