I wasn't sure about wool socks. I didn't like any of the wool items I had to buy, but I live in Minnesota so warm socks seemed like a must (I'm getting older and colder). These socks are very comfortable. Good length (I wear size 11 shoes but bought medium socks for sizes 5-9. I don't like it when a sock's heel goes far beyond my real heel, which all socks seem to do). These socks are a little heavier than normal socks, but not too thick. They don't make my feet sweat, and my feet are more than capable of sweating when they have a reason to. I also bought non-wool CQR socks. I like those too. The length is also very good. They're a little tight on my foot (I have a slightly wider foot than the average person), but I still wear them comfortably all day. If the socks wear out and the material wears off, they're probably perfect. To be honest, I've been very happy with every CQR product I've purchased (15 pairs of socks and 6 pairs of pants). I'm not usually happy with socks or pants so that's a real feather in their hats!
