Very Comfortable - Good Sound - Great Build Quality

First let me write here for those who are confused because I had to do a lot of research on the subject - Razer Kraken Tournament Edition basically exactly the same as the new Razer Kraken 2019 edition. However, this version comes with a THX USB sound card that offers THX Spatial Audio in games, as well as a few other features. I believe this only works for PC. Otherwise, it's probably better to buy the new Razer Kraken 2019 Edition. The first thing I want to say about this headset is how good it looks. That's subjective of course, but I just like the way it looks. Green may seem tasteless to some, but I really like it. The overall design and look makes them strong and sturdy, which belies how comfortable and lightweight they are. Basically, when they're on my head, they feel like there's nothing on my head at all. I wear glasses and usually the headphones are very uncomfortable on my head but it's like clouds on my head. So in terms of build quality, comfort and looks, this headset gets full marks from me. However 5/5. There are some issues with the sound. I've heard a lot of reviews saying they're loud and bass-heavy, but I've had a few issues with them. The bass doesn't sound nearly as good as my old headset - it feels pretty light, and when you crank it up (with the knob on the THX knob) the music sounds pretty awful. The volume is also not that loud for my standards. To do this I say make sure you turn the volume knob on the cable, then crank the volume all the way up on the THQ knob, then make sure the game chat balance is off. The rest of the sound quality is satisfactory, but could be better and clearer. It's annoying that I have to fiddle with the EQ instead of having good settings already made. The microphone in this headset is fantastic - by far the best microphone in a headset I have ever used. It sounds so clear - almost like a professional microphone. This is one of the reasons why I bought this headset after listening to it, because I use Discord almost all day and your colleagues will definitely like their sound. To do this, I would suggest going into the Razer Synapse settings (the software that comes with the connected headset) and disabling the mic volume to 100, mic sensitivity to 75, sidetone to 50 and disable the enhancements. No matter what voice chat program you use, you want the program's sensitivity to be as low as possible. I'd like to mention some other great features of this headset that probably don't get mentioned too often: It comes with two straps that allow you to adjust the length of the cables from both the USB sound card and the cable connecting the headset itself. I really liked having two of these cables and it allows me to trim the cable to the exact length I want without excessive kinks in the wire. Looks very neat. I also love the fact that the THQ sound controller has an adhesive backing that allows you to stick the controller anywhere after peeling off the backing. It's very useful and looks great. I hope this review answers questions and concerns that others may have. I would definitely recommend this headset to anyone looking for a really comfortable, reliable headset with solid build quality and a great mic. I would *not* recommend this headset to audiophiles. In terms of audio, I've had Logitech and HyperX headsets, which sound better, but they're perfectly acceptable, probably for the vast majority of the population. Every time I restart my computer and put on my headset all my sounds are distorted like in a horror movie. Really annoying problem. Disconnecting and reinserting the USB fixes this, but I don't need to bother with that. This, combined with issues with the Razer Synapse 3 where all my mic settings reset every time I restarted my computer, prompted me to put this headset back in the box and put it on a shelf to use as a backup headset for keeping the case of my logitech will die. .
