I ordered these to keep my toes warm during my morning bike ride. They do their job very well. (Here in Northern California, a cold 38f morning.) The material is thin, flexible and porous. Gears and brakes are easy to work on on my bike. It appears to be something like neoprene. It reminds me of the material of a diving suit. It's thin but feels very hard. There are grip strips on the palms - these are well placed to keep your hands glued to the handlebars. I first tried them on a long ride on a 72 degree day. The fabric seemed to breathe and my hands stayed cool. They were pleasantly warm this morning at 40 F. The touchscreen feature works for both left- and right-handed users, as advertised. This is fine for simple tasks like changing an MP3 song. Probably not effective for entering long text.
