Waterproof but otherwise marginal
DOES NOT absorb moisture and does not have a cotton top as the description would suggest (top layer is synthetic). Tested for 1/2 cup of water. Although the water didn't seep through the bottom of the pillow, it stayed there in a large puddle and rolled off as soon as I lifted the pillow. This should work as a waterproof cover but I doubt it will work in major accidents after small leaks. Probably not for teenagers or adults but more for small pets or intants.
