Review on πŸ“½οΈ Silver Ticket Products STR-MOUNTSB: Low Profile Universal LCD/DLP Projector Mount (3 Inch) by Ronnie Segobiano

Not sure about the small screws

I haven't quite finished installing the projector yet, hence an interim report. I'm setting up a Benq HT1085ST projector in a basement with a fairly low ceiling and a flat mount is imperative. This mount is probably the lowest profile physically that also allows for some pitch/roll/yaw adjustments after installation. Watching the tutorial video on YouTube is mandatory, without it it is impossible to complete the first step correctly. One thing the video doesn't mention is that once you get the first step right, you shouldn't rotate either the top or bottom. If you twist it, it will loosen up a little. One set of included projector mount screws fits my projector, but the other screws that effectively attach the projector to the mount have alarmingly short threads (perhaps less than 1/4 inch) and it's scary to think these are all made by 3 small screws are held together. I've managed to find a spot on the ceiling to hit the joist to hold 2 screws and am considering getting leverage screws for the other 2 (rather than using the wall anchors provided). I'll let you know as soon as I'm done with all of this. Update: It's installed and it is indeed a very flat mount (see attached image). Once installed, finding the right angle is a bit tricky as there is no way to make minor adjustments. Also, it has a little play in the horizontal plane, ie moves too easily. As long as the projector isn't touched, everything should stay in place. A possibility to make small adjustments would be nice, even if they want to charge a little more. Otherwise everything is fine, I award 4 stars.
