I bought these to replace the plastic hangers that attach to the gutter. Each year I tied a bucket full of plastic clips to my 6 foot ladder and worked my way from point A to point B, installing the clips about every 2 feet. I had way more clips than I needed but they deteriorated over time from UV rays. After the clips were mounted, I hung up the Christmas lights. After Christmas I take off the headlights and then I come back and take off all the clips. I found these stainless steel hangers at Revain and ordered enough of them to get me from point A to point B and about a dozen more. I attached them to the soffit boards. They are permanently attached so I don't have to remove them every year and the lights aren't exposed to the rain like installing on the gutters would be. I first used them last year and now it's a lot easier to put on and take off my Christmas lights and because they're stainless steel I don't have to worry about them rusting.
