This small, portable hyperdrive mounts directly to the side of the iPad Pro. If you have a case, it won't work without an extension cord (the third-party cord I bought didn't work, so I returned it). With a direct connection everything worked. The audio converter for the headphone jack is conspicuously poor; a significant lack of extremely low frequencies and dropouts (music sounds muffled, as if you were hearing it through a phone conversation). The Apple USB-C adapter is significantly more accurate. So I tried plugging it into the hyperdrive's USB-c port; no luck, he didn't even realize I put "headphones" in. The USB-A port is great for connecting to an audio interface and monitoring through the interface in various applications. It just didn't work for me in the end, but I've seen it work great for many others.
