When I ordered I thought it was the size of a cool mist humidifier, but it's actually significantly smaller, which is good because it doesn't take up much space. There are generally 2 sizes of ultrasonic heads on these machines and this one has a larger head at about 3/4 inch which is also a plus because it vibrates over a much larger area of water and that is what creates fog/mist. capable of filling a 40-gallon reptile tank to the brim with dense fog in about 15 seconds. I've set a timer on my fork to go off for a few minutes every hour and I'm sure it does wonders for my little friends' humidity levels. PS: The ceramic heads are interchangeable, I'm not sure I can actually take them apart when they wear out to replace the head, but to make them durable I won't run them too long each cycle . longer if you run it 6 hours or less a day, I don't think I need it to work even a fraction of that with all the fog it creates.
