Very good value for money. in coffee, tea and espresso

REVIEW WITH FIXES Ours still works great. Unfortunately you can't get it for 20€ anymore. I wanted to address some of the negative feedback and offer a solution to a type of issue that some people have noticed. Some reviews say it's noisy; this is not my experience. I find it makes no more noise than countless previous coffee makers of many brands we've owned. And as far as I can tell, the coffee doesn't have an unpleasant taste due to the plastic used. Some have found that the paper filter breaks and the coffee overflows through the filter, sometimes into the basket and then into the carafe. This has happened to me once or twice. The first thing I noticed was that if the filter paper is even slightly bent, the manufacturer's design allows water to drip between the basket and the filter paper, causing the wet filter to fold on its own. I made sure the filter paper was pressed against the back of the basket and this problem went away. Another issue some have had is the basket not draining properly and filling up and overflowing the rim. I didn't have that experience; However, this is most likely due to the carafe's lid fitting loosely on the basket's outlet valve, which allows the basket to drain into the carafe. I found a reliable way to get around this, at least for me. I remove the carafe, then put in the filter and coffee, add water and tighten the lid. Finally, I place the carafe on the heating pad and lightly press the lid. If you don't do this and just insert the carafe, the decanter lid will push down on the basket valve, but at the same time it will seem to lift the entire basket a bit, preventing the valve from fully opening. You want the valve to open, not the basket to lift. So just put the carafe in last and push the top down a little while you do this and this will hold the basket in place and the drain valve will be fully open when you put the carafe in - an easy mess-fix and so forth. removed, it works every time; hope for others. At $20 it was amazing value. FIRST REVIEW I have looked at many more expensive coffee makers and none of them have been without flaws. So I decided to just find the cheapest one that suits my needs. This one turned out to be a gem for less than $20 (I paid $19.99). It came in "industrial" packaging and as soon as it arrived I tried out all the features and functions; everything worked as advertised. The only minor catch is that the decanter lid doesn't appear to be removable; You will likely break it when trying to remove it. Other decanters I've had have had the top removable which makes cleaning easier, but overall it doesn't matter as everything is easy to clean. Admittedly, this review is out of the box and we've only been using it for two days, so reliability is unknown. If this becomes an issue later I will change the rating but for now I feel it is great value for money.
