Just received the router (Linksys 1750, EA6500, V2) These are my first impressions. Very easy installation - I've never seen one so easy. It took maybe 1 minute to walk through the facility. We connect the router, go to lynksissmartwifi.com (local to the router) and follow the instructions. The speed in the same room for the 2.4 GHz channel was 40-50 MB/s. Now 55-60mb/s. Interestingly, the speed hasn't increased on the second floor - it's still between 25MB/s and 30MB/s. That's why I bought it in the first place, but it didn't seem to get any faster there. We'll see if the speed increases, as I explained below for my tests in the room the router is in (which is why I'm giving it 4 stars, not 5). Another interesting fact is that the speed test was very disappointing the first time around - around 10MB/s (less than my old router which showed around 40MB/s). However, with a few more attempts, it kept increasing until it reached its maximum of 55-60 MB/s. So right now the speed is 10-15 BM/s faster than the old router. I'm not sure if that's what you want. Speed test in the same room on a 5 GHz channel - it started at 50-60 MB/s in the first test but kept increasing and now shows 130 MB/s. Not sure if it's coming from the router or my ISP (direct modem connection not tested). So it's twice as much as my previous router (which didn't have a 5GHz channel). The router runs warm but not hot (at the moment). I'll keep an eye on this as I know what other users are saying about overheating. A few other interesting facts: The Lynksis testing software tends to show higher numbers than when I use Speedtest.net. Not sure why. Overall a very good experience. Will update as I use it. By the way, nothing is written on the box V2. But it lists a USB3 port, which I think is the difference between V1 and V2. So I'm pretty sure I got V2.Day 2Ok so I did some more speed tests today and surprisingly my 2.4GHz channel has now hit 75-90MB/s (up from 50-60MB/ s that he showed on the first day). The 5GHz channel still reads 130MB/s. Not sure if this is a daily change from my ISP Xfinity, but it's pretty amazing compared to the 40MB/s max I got with my old Belkin Surf N300 router (even in the same room as the router). The router continues to heat up, but does not heat up. My iPad 2 is the only device I have left running at 20-25 MB/s (but that might be a design limitation of the iPad). I'm increasing my rating to 5 stars. Update about 5 days later. The router continues to work very well. However, checking the temperature shows that the underside is quite hot. It looks like the metal plates at the top and bottom are heatsinks. The bottom is much hotter than the top and too hot for comfort. Before putting a laptop cooling pad under the router, I decided to just lift it onto the pad I have (about 2 inches taller). floor) to allow unobstructed airflow under the router. It seems to help lower the temperature. It's warm downstairs now too, but not too hot. I'll wait and see if this maintains a comfortable temperature (although I'm not sure what the correct temperature should be).
