To say it's better than nothing is being a little generous. The material is similar to similar Zagg cases, but the one I received has a matte finish than I expected, giving the screen a matte effect. I also had a lot of problems installing it. Basic cleaning and preparation was easy, but the film comes with two (2) layers of shipping coating on the inside of the package on both sides. When laying using the book-page method, as described in the instructions, it is recommended to separate the film from the shipping sleeve so that it can move a lot during the laying phase. Add to that the strong static cling that seemed to attract every particle of dust within a few feet, resulting in a very nasty build up and about a dozen particles under the film. The retail package included a decent installation kit with napkins, cloths, ribbons and rubber bands to help set it up. Overall, it's better protection than nothing, but I can't say I like it as much as the Zagg cover I put on my original iPad.
