I like this dehumidifier because it's very simple. It appears to use a thermoelectric/peltier device along with heaters to create condensate that drips into a collection tank. It doesn't look like it has a working liquid like Freon or anything to condense, but I could be wrong. Even though you're good at it. I'm sure it would be worth a lot more if that were the case. It also has a simple mechanism that turns off the dehumidifier once too much water has been collected. The downside is that the simple auto shut-off mechanism has a strong spring. Since this product is made out of cheap plastic, most of the time you have to put something heavy on it to keep it from tripping when the water bowl isn't even remotely full. Others have made this comment in the reviews but I just had to try this myself because I needed one and chose this one. I'll still use it, but in my humble opinion it's a serious design flaw. I don't like this as I wasn't expecting to have to "press and hold" an invisible button on top of this thing to turn it back on when it's already on and the water bowl is nowhere near full. I have to deduct 2 stars for that. Other than that, it definitely works. We have a fairly humid climate and that works well. I had to water water every day or every other day how effective it is. Normally we are used to seeing 50-65% relative humidity. In that environment, this thing does it in a very small space. 3 stars.
