This pearl necklace will look lovely from a distance but, up close, it is easy to see where it lacks in quality. I suppose the price is fair given these points, but I was still somewhat disappointed by a few things. I got the 8-9 mm necklace in a 20" length. On the good side, the pearls are very white, round, and even in shape and size. They do have some lustre and I believe they are genuine cultured pearls (not fake glass or plastic). The length was nice and the strand of pearls had a good weight to it. The pearls are knotted very securely. On the minus side, while the packaging box itself was nice, one of the support strings was broken, causing the necklace to move around in the box and the pearls to become scratched. Most of the pearls on my necklace arrived scratched. Many of the pearls had nacre defects like discoloration, bumping, or just tons of scratches. The nacre is also not as lustrous as the pictures would suggest, not much rainbow iridescence. The clasp on my necklace was also already heavily tarnished when I arrived, and was actually green in some spots. I was kind of astonished that this had already happened. Ultimately this could be a nice pearl necklace if you want something with cultured pearls that isn't too expensive and would look pretty from a distance.
