Rough. Too thick and hard.

When I took them out of the box there was all this brown grease on the box and on the pliers when I opened them there was black sticky grease in them and they were very tight to open and close shut down. To me it looks like someone tried to use old motor oil or something to loosen them and then put them back on. I think I can use them as rough pliers for the dirty housework, but they're useless for needlework.
