This hard drive meets the advertised speed of around 900 MB/s on my iMacPro. but. The drive gets very hot, even when idle. I have it alongside my brother, a 2TB Samsung T5 SSD, and the drive never heats up even when hit hard (temps are now (87 degrees Fahrenheit) while the T7 idles over 100 degrees reached Fahrenheit. Sometimes the T7 temp jumps a lot and the drive shuts down. At that point I have to unplug it, let it cool down and then plug it back in. I've read all about the crazy thermal management of this drive, but I'm not buying it. You probably don't use T5 either, its speed is half as fast, but it's still fast and more importantly, it doesn't burn.
