I bought two of these for my SUPER COTTON girls to wear to an Irish tap dance event. My oldest daughter is 55 inches tall and weighs 61 pounds. In jeans she wears 10 super slim jeans. I ordered this shirt for her in a size 10 and it fits great. So if your child is medium or tall, this shirt will probably be too tight. My other daughter is 45.5 inches tall and weighs 43 pounds. She wears 6 skinny jeans. I ordered her a size 6 in this shirt and it fits great too. The following applies to both shirts: the sleeves end directly at the wrist, the fabric is thin and crisp. I only wish the shirts were longer as they would come off my girls skirts when they raised their arms or ran. For the price I paid I am happy with the purchase. I rarely find tops in department stores that fit my girls' slim torsos so well, so I have to say these shirts ARE A SLIM FIT.
