All in all, this shock mount does the job. There are two aspects of the design that could be improved. Squeezing the two pieces together and exposing the "tube" that holds the mic creates that annoying clicking sound. I have two of these devices and they both make that click every time which doesn't give much confidence in their setup. Also, the "hose" consists of an outer metal band and an inner piece of foam. The foam rubber is glued into the inner surface of the tube. On both units, the foam rubber is not fully bonded to the metal. For me this doesn't inspire much confidence as I think the glue will fail completely in the future. Aside from those two issues, the shock absorber is fine. Of course there is room for improvement, but this is workable.
