The holder is a little tight for my dynamic microphone, the standard AT DR-140. The microphone is a simple portable singer microphone. All in all, this shock mount does the job. There are two aspects of the design that could be improved. Squeezing the two pieces together and exposing the "tube" that holds the mic creates that annoying clicking sound. I have two of these devices and they both make that click every time which doesn't give much confidence in their setup. Also, the "hose" consists of an outer metal band and an inner piece of foam. The quality of this product is decent and once you figure out how it works it's easy enough to insert and remove the microphone. I have no problems with the microphone falling out of the holder. I am writing this review as someone who has never used a microphone before purchasing this product. I bought a new microphone along with this product to find out how shock absorbers work.
