Although I did not use this wool detergent on the garment I knit, I have used it on three different 100% wool items I have at home and have been very happy with it the results! I first used it to wash the Pendleton throw in the picture. I've had this blanket for 15 years now and I'm ashamed to say I've only had it dry cleaned once. It only says dry cleaning, but I hate the nasty chemicals in dry cleaning. My cats love this blanket so it's time to do something. I filled the tub with cold water a few inches and added the specified KnitIQ pumps. I moved the blanket a little to allow the water to flow through without getting in the way of the fibers. The water was so dirty that I repeated this process three times. I didn't scrape it up or rub it, just gently waved it and let it sink in. Removes a ton of dirt and grime. When I was satisfied with the cleanliness I wrapped it in some towels to remove as much water as possible and line dried it, turning frequently. This blanket has never been softer - the lanolin really rejuvenated the fibers. It smells great, it's amazingly clean and the colors seem brighter. I then used it on an Aran Islands sweater with intricate braids and braids that my husband tumbled and shrunk years ago. The arms were at least 3 inches shorter afterwards. I let it sink in and changed the shape trying to "untie" it. I blocked it to dry out a little and then dried it on a string, again rotating it so it didn't get any wobbly creases. It worked like a charm. I was so surprised. I have to fix a few moth holes but the sweater is back to its original shape and size - the sweater (and my memories of the Aran Islands) is saved! Finally I tried it on a badly felted wool scarf. Washing out the wool softened it a bit and helped me reshape it a bit, but it didn't make felting any easier. I wasn't expecting this - it's impossible to undo the felting once it's underway and I'm surprised that washing the wool made it as soft as it did. It's wearable again and I've slightly increased its length by reshaping it. I highly recommend this wool cleaner! I also like the aroma - light, natural citrus-lavender, unobtrusive (I'm sensitive to smells). Note that if you've never washed wool before, the wool itself has a wet animal smell when wet. Once it dries, this smell disappears, leaving you with a faint lemony lavender scent.
