I'm tired of changing expensive hard shell suitcases because cheap plastic casters break. I bought these skates for another project that went in a different direction, so I decided to mount them on a suitcase that I would have otherwise thrown in the trash because of a broken wheel. I will say these are the smoothest wheels I have ever had on a suitcase. They are slightly larger than regular suitcase wheels so may not be suitable for carry-on luggage, but work well for larger luggage if stowage in overhead bins is not an issue.
