I already have a Bostitch nail gun that I have used for several years and I still think it is the best. The problem is that there are projects where 2 nail guns speed things up significantly. But a new Bostitch costs me at least $200 more than I wanted to spend. So I always either had a friend beg for it or hired a spare. I figured that for $70 maybe that would cost a second gun. And hey, I was right! Pros: Hammers nails well. stuck only once in 10 square tiles. never mind. The construction is simple and seems solid enough, at least for a guy like me who does roofing work for a relative or friend for a year or two. Fits 3/4" to 1 3/4" nails with easy adjustment. Cons: Significantly heavier than the Bostitch pistol I already own. WEN isn't terrible at all, but as you switch from one weapon to another you can definitely feel the difference. Loading nails is a bit more difficult than Bostitch (but to be honest both guns are very easy to load). To sum it up, it's not fair to compare $70 WEN to $200+ Bostitch, but I did. And it worked out well for WHO. WEN is heavier, slightly more difficult to charge, and may not last for years like Bostitch (although it could be). If I were a roofer to pay my bills, I'd invest in a better gun. But in the end WEN works fine and should work fine as a "home" device. Plus, the blue and yellow color scheme is eye-catching and easy to spot in the grass if you accidentally drop it off the roof!
