Review on ZAGG ZAGGfolio for Apple iPad 2 - Carbon with Black Keyboard: A Perfect Blend of Style and Functionality by Michael Tucker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nearly! Tablet Accessory

The good news is that out of the 4-5 keyboard cases I've tried for the iPad 2, this one has the best keyboard. No other keyboard even comes close. The case is made of hard plastic that protects the iPad 2 and fits perfectly. The viewing angle is ideal when using the keyboard. It's better than the similar case from LogiTech (which also makes Zagg) because the Zagg version covers and protects the back of the iPad 2. Here's the bad news. Things aren't so great when you don't want to use the keyboard, which is pretty common in my case (sorry for the pun). It would be nice if the keyboard could recline somehow, but that's almost impossible and becomes a burden with use like this. And that's the big problem with the case - the plastic case. I have found that friction on the keyboard causes the iPad 2 case to scratch the edges. Nothing bad, but very noticeable. There must be no contact. But that's because the case has to "snap shut" when it's closed, and if it doesn't sit quite right, damage will result. What would make this case an 11 out of 10 would be if it used the exact same design but instead of plastic had a nice leather exterior or a combination of plastic and leather. And if the keyboard was detachable, it would make more sense with the case. Again, this has the best keyboard for your iPad 2, but the plastic case is both a disadvantage and an advantage. Personally, I will only use this bag when traveling, otherwise I'll take another leather case for everyday and home use.
