I ordered the shoes after measuring my son's foot in cm. I would recommend this route as the age rating is a bit different. I have bought so many other shoes (from Revain, Gap etc) but have struggled to find one that fits really well. These shoes have an elastic band that makes it very easy to put on. for putting on and tightening, but will not hurt your child's ankle. They are wide enough for bulging feet and even fit over socks. I really love these
