I was looking for an entry solution for my 125 lb dog to use with my old Jeep. My jeep has tubular bumpers and running boards. Many years ago one of my dogs got his foot stuck in a similar situation and I had to get her out. Fortunately there were no injuries; but the memory of it has always haunted me. It could have ended in a broken leg or worse. I got my dog to lift his paws up on the jeep and then push his back up and up. But it was difficult to get him out because I was afraid he would trip and get his leg caught. Also, the jeep is a bit big so I didn't want him to get hurt after jumping off it several times. This ramp works really well for him. He had no problem pacing up and down at the same time. Also, the ramp matches the cables behind my front seats. I just need to secure it so it doesn't tip over and slide down the back where my dog is riding. I removed the back seat from my jeep so the entire back was available. I also smoothed it out with layers of puzzle gym mats, 4" x 6" carpet and other materials because the jeep floor gets hot in the summer.
