My grandson LOVES the book and asks me to read it over and over again. I have a stuffed animal called Pete the Cat and he plays with it while I read him stories (and I actually considered making a button down shirt with velcro to emulate the story). When I saw the doll I just had to have it. It's a good size and easy to manoeuvre. My only disappointment is that only one of the buttons pops out (it's attached with string so it doesn't get lost and disappears in baby's mouth), which I don't think would be as successful for children to read. Story because in this story all 4 buttons come off revealing his navel and I believe my grandson will try to undo all the buttons and get frustrated when he doesn't. I think I'll also make a yellow shirt for a stuffed animal that has four buttons that can be unbuttoned, and also sew a "navel" onto the toy. That way the story fits down to the last detail and my grandson will be able to repeat it again. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I think it will still be a hit with little ones and I recommend it. I would love to have a preschool or kindergarten assistant in the classroom. Addendum: I didn't mention that the shirt fastens with Velcro and reveals the doll's belly button when opened. I discovered this myself as it was never mentioned when I placed my order to receive it. Now my grandson likes to unbutton his shirt and expose his belly button. ;)
