Over the years I have tried many different mats to put under the litter box. They all had some flaws (mostly when your cat has an accident outside of the litter box on the mat - well, cleaning is a nightmare). I LOVE this rug - it's waterproof, doesn't smell bad, just the right size to be effective, easy to use dustpan and brush to sweep up dirt (or you can pick it up and shake it in a bag) and easy to clean indoors In case of an accident outside the garbage drawer. It won't completely stop litter chasing - mainly because my cats tend to jump off the litter box like their lives depend on it - but it protects floors well (invaluable if you have a cat that likes to get up to pee , and sometimes targets from input>_>). I'm always very skeptical of claims about cat litter, but this really is the best I've found so far - I just wish they'd made an even larger mat that could fit under more than one tray so I didn't have to buy several separate. EDIT: Update to add that one of our cats managed to get some poo out of the litter box and it was really easy to clean up with Clorox wipes! Also, I've found that I have to use a dustpan and brush once a day to clean up spilled debris if I want home tracking to be effectively prevented, but it only takes a minute.
