After living happily in the same house for 25 years, I have recently noticed that my lampshades are deteriorating. Many of them had metal ribs and were wrapped in plasticized material that fell apart. I tried wrapping one of these in lace, which worked somewhat, although the lace is too see-through and I needed a layer of fabric between the ribs to block it out. Then I found this tape and bought a roll. It worked very well. One roll of tape is enough for a medium sized lampshade including the rest of the tape which should be folded and ironed then glued around the top and bottom edges of the lampshade to give it a nice finished look. I used white to get the best light effect from my lamps, but other colors can be used to match your decor. This tape is quite thin but has decent density. Please note that the glitter is much more on one side than the other, so take care when using it for crafts or decorations.
