Traveled with a cat for the first time in my life. I was so excited about this whole process and did a lot of research. I ended up using this carrier. I had a small hand that he sat on so I didn't have to carry it. Some people said the handle was broken so I didn't want to risk it. About a month before the trip she was open in my living room and we played with her (I threw toys and she chased them). She would even sleep in it alone. When it was time to travel, they put her to bed and slept the whole way. I was hoping it would fit sideways under my seat, but it had to go. But it didn't matter as all 4 sides had holes for the screen. I used one of those soothing collars and she slept peacefully without incident (entered the carrier at 12:30pm and we released her at the hotel at 9pm). I just had to give her a small bowl of water when I could. A great holdall, especially as the sides were padded and foldable - you could tuck it under the seat if needed. Not for sleeping - only for traveling. They need something they can use for longer stays. My cat could sit up and her head touched the top, but she couldn't get up.
